Bringing Holiday Intentions to Life—One Moment at a Time

Writer's picture: JenJen

As I hurried from one errand to the next yesterday, juggling obligations and checking off my never-ending to-do list, I had a realization: it’s only December 4th, and I’ve already drifted from my holiday intention. 🎄

In my last blog (👉https://www.claritywellnesscoach.com/blog), I talked about setting an intention this holiday season. My intention this year is simple: to embrace and enjoy the spirit of the season. For me that means not rushing around, finding moments of peace, and truly soaking in what the season means to me—joy, calm, and connection.

But instead, I found myself swept up in the rush, losing sight of that intention. And here’s the thing: that’s okay. It happens! That’s the beauty of an intention—it’s something to gently fall back on when life gets chaotic. ✨

No Judgement, Just Awareness

Intentions are not rigid rules meant to leave us feeling like we’ve failed when life gets hectic. They’re gentle reminders, inviting us to pause, recalibrate, and come back to what matters most. So, I did just that.

I turned on my favorite Christmas playlist🎶, lit all the candles 🕯️, plugged in the Christmas lights 🎄, and turned on the fireplace 🔥. I was still cleaning up and making dinner, but that small shift in atmosphere was exactly what I needed.

It wasn't about perfection or about “doing it right.” I was doing what worked for me in that moment. 💫 Emmy loved it too. 🐾

Bite-Size Joy

Living with intention doesn’t have to be big and elaborate, it’s the small, bite-size moments that make the difference.

🎧 It’s turning up your favorite holiday music while folding laundry.

☕ It’s taking five minutes to sip hot cocoa by the tree.

🛋️ It’s sitting down and staring at the twinkling lights for no reason at all.

It doesn’t have to be elaborate. It just has to be meaningful to you.

Coming Back to Your Intention

I also had a conversation with my husband about how we’ve been so tied up in our individual projects that we’re not fully embracing the Christmas season together.🎅

So, we made a pact: once a week, we’ll carve out time to intentionally soak in the spirit of the season. This week, that means heading to Atlanta for a Christmas party we attend every year.

Next week? Who knows. It could be something as simple as watching a Christmas movie 🎥 together or driving around to look at Christmas lights. It's just about being together.

The point is to find what works for you—and to let it bring joy, calm, and connection to your holiday season. 🌟

What’s Your Holiday Intention?

If you’ve set an intention this holiday season, take a moment to check in with yourself. Are you living it in a way that feels good to you? If not, how can you gently bring yourself back without judgement?

💡 Remember, it’s not about how much you do or how perfectly you do it. It’s about creating space for moments that bring you peace, joy, and connection—whatever that looks like for you.

💭What small steps can you take today to realign with your intention?
